In this work the first step of elaboration of the method of determination of concentration of chlorine in rocks and minerals by means of X-ray fluorescence analysis of pressed pellets is described. Examples of application of the described method for the analysis of samples with a various mineral matrix are considered and the estimation of metrological characteristics of method with standard samples is made.
